Why Women Are Done Being the Retirement Plan for Receding Hairlines and Regret
Hey girl, so let me give you this full sermon and the benediction! 🔥
There’s something almost laughable—and deeply insulting—about the way some men try to come back after everything.
They left you.
They drained you.
They fumbled you, publicly and privately.
And now?
Now they’ve got the audacity to come crawling back with a text or call that typically begins starts with something like
“Hey stranger…”
Sir, don’t you have a colonoscopy to schedule?
Let’s Be Clear: This Ain’t That
You thought I’d be waiting, didn’t you?
Soft and lonely.
A little older.
Maybe a little tired.
Maybe willing to forget everything you put me through because you’ve changed.
But here’s the truth:
I did get older.
And I did get tired—
Tired of being lied to.
Tired of being the blueprint but never the beneficiary.
Tired of being “too much” for boys who weren’t enough.
And I healed myself.
I loved myself.
I chose me this time.
So no… you don’t get to double back now.
Not with your receding hairline, those Michael Jordan jeans, and erectile dysfunction wrapped in fake humility.
You’re Not Sorry—You’re Just Out of Options
Some of these men are hoping we’ve forgotten who they were.
Or worse… hoping we’ve forgotten who we are.
The truth is, they’re not sorry.
They’re just running out of women who don’t know the truth yet.
They’re not coming back because they suddenly understand your worth.
They’re coming back because you’re the last woman they didn’t burn to the ground.
Meanwhile, We’ve Been Evolving
We’ve been busy.
Breaking cycles.
Building legacies.
Mothering children and re-mothering ourselves.
Healing out loud.
Crying in showers and winning in silence.
And rising. Every. Damn. Time.
So no—we’re not interested in being the reward for your regret.
We’re not your peace.
We’re not your nurse.
We’re not your redemption arc.
We are not the soft place to land now that life has humbled you.

We are not women who fold just because we remember how much we once loved you.
We are in our soft life era FOR OURSELVES because we earned it—not because we’re finally willing to babysit your trauma.

You don’t owe him a thing.
Not your silence.
Not your softness.
Not your soul.
